I went on and did abit of research regarding the matter, went and check the petrol prices of our dear fella neighbouring countries, namely Singapore and Thailand.
Singapore hits 2.186 SD (5.20716 MYR) when Malaysian pays only 2.70 MYR. Well, at first glance we might all say aiyah not too bad la we still pay less as compared to the Singaporeans. Think twice, don't ever forget that Malaysia is a petroleum exporting country. We do have a positive net export figure, not a negative one. What makes our policy makers think that we Malaysians have to pay up to RM 2.70 MYR per litre of petrol when other petroleum exporting countries are paying pennies? Lemme give you the figures.
UAE RM1.19/litre
Eygpt RM1.03/litre
Bahrain RM0.87/litre
Qatar RM0.68/litre
Kuwait RM0.67/litre
Saudi Arabia RM0.38/litre
IranRM0.35/litre
Nigeria RM0.32/litre
Turkmenistan RM0.25/litre
Venezuela RM0.16/litre
MALAYSIA RM2.70/litre
What is THIS??? PURE MADNESS!!! Wawasan 2020? I think AWAS 2020, cause the petrol price might still be increased and we people are going to SUFFER as petrol will be costing our ARMS and LEGS, who knows?

or this...

or even this...
haih haih haih~~Let's shift our discussion platform to Thailand shall we? Petrol in Thailand is approximately 3.90 MYR per litre.
But take note that:
1) new cars are significantly cheaper in Thailand than in Malaysia, BY RM 10,000 or more!!!
2) Besides, they pay only ONCE A LIFE TIME for their driving lincense, no renewal fee after that
3) no such thing as ROAD TAX
4) no such thing as HIGH WAT TOLL, which means you can drive all the way from HATYAI to BANGKOK on a six lane highway for FREE.
Bringing us back to a larger platform, the international market. In the international market, a.k.a the FREE TRADE MARKET without the kanasai Malaysian Government imposing their stupid taxes on cars, a Toyota Vios is about USD 19,000, which is around 62,700 MYR (taking USD 1 = 3.30 MYR for instance). In Malaysia, we pay around 89,000 MYR for a vios, which means an extra 26,300 MYR for the cost of operations, profit, tax because the transportation costs incurred.
The Malaysian Government is so-so-so-so-so considerate for giving us a 625 MYR rebate, but it also means that one have to use the Vios for 42.08 years just to make back the amount paid in taxes for the usage of a foreign car!
Damnit, whoz going to use a VIOS for 42 darn years? Normal people don't use a MERZ for 42 years la ish ish ishhhhh!!
